Harp Concert at Santa Barbara City College

harpconcert
On Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 7pm, Santa Barbara City College Harpists will present a concert in the Fé Bland Forum on West Campus. Performers will include vocalists and instrumentalists from the SBCC Applied Music program, harpists from the department and from the local community. They will showcase highlights from the broad spectrum of music that is the harp legacy; from Latin to Celtic, from Classical to Jazz, from acoustic to electric. The evening will be crowned with a set by special guest and renowned jazz harpist Lori Andrews and her JazHarp trio (Mark Hollingsworth on sax/flute and Bart Samolis on bass).

Admission: A $10 donation benefits the SBCC Harp Fund.
Checks can be made out to "SBCC Symphony/Harp."

Please join us in establishing our New Harp Fund! Santa Barbara City College Music Department has been training harp students for the past 18 years. In 2001 we purchased a used student model Lyon & Healy style 14 built in 1960. This instrument has seen many years of use and is exhibiting structural problems which suggest its life span won't last much longer so it's time for us to search for a new instrument. Your donations toward our goal are gratefully accepted.
